Ravens Shock Utes, Win 5-2
Publish Date: June 19, 2013 by Mark Baccoli

After winning their first contest, the Ravens looked to carry their momentum into their second game against a strong Utes squad. Making their Ravens’ debut tonight were (D) Kevin Eck and (F) Nate Keller.

The Ravens jumped out of the gate early, scoring just 1:20 into the game on a shot by Kevin Vey (1). The Utes answered 9:50 later before Billy Storoniak scored his team leading sixth goal of the season, putting the Ravens up 2-1 after one. The Utes continued to put pressure on the Ravens, but Nate Roberts (1) found the back of the net to boost the Ravens’ lead to a pair. However, the Utes had an answer with 8:50 remaining in the period to cut the Ravens’ lead to 3-2 after two. The Utes threw everything they had at the Ravens in the third period, but it was Storoniak scoring his second (7) and third (8) of the game to register his second consecutive hat trick to put the game away. Mark Baccoli stopped 42 of 44 shots in the game, including all 26 in the third period. Despite getting badly out shot, the Ravens found a way to get the job done.
