Cyclones Deflate Ravens 7-2 in Second Meeting
Publish Date: July 24, 2013 by Mark Baccoli

After playing the Cyclones just two weeks ago, the Ravens found themselves up against the powerful squad once again. In the first period, the Aaron Komarek of the Cyclones buried a centering pass on the doorstep at the 11:40 mark to put his team up 1-0. The Cyclones upped their lead to 2-0 before Billy Storomiak (13) cut the lead in half on a strong move to the net with 6:48 remaining in the period. The Cyclones were able to score one more before the opening period expired to hold a 3-1 advantage after one. The Ravens would keep battling in the second period, as they were able to register the period's lone goal on a shot from Storomiak (14), recording his second of the game. A scuffle at the end of the period would leave both teams with hot tempers going into the third period with the Cyclones leading 3-2. A couple lengthy power play sessions were enough for the Cyclones to blow the game wide open, as they scored four goals to sink the Ravens in their second of two meetings. Mark Baccoli stopped 42 of 49 shots in the game, including 23 in the third period.
